About Me

My name is Olga Virko. I'm a multidisciplinary designer based in the Greater New York City Area with over 15 years of experience in creating pixel-perfect designs for companies.

User-centered design and usability are my key design priorities. I am passionate about solving problems and providing solutions that are simple and elegant. I have created a wide range of responsive websites, applications and visual materials.

My work ethic

My work ethic has three guiding principles: Like The Client, Empathize With The End User, and Over Deliver. My strength lies in Web Design, Visual Design and Application Design.

Whenever I get a new project, I research the client and find something that is interesting, amazing, or unique about company that I can draw upon for inspiration and creative ideas. I always ask them why they decided to commission the project. The Client's motivations and the reasons behind them are crucial to the development of the solution that best fits their needs. Empathizing with the End User is also critical, because ignoring the End User's needs will result in a product that is clunky and unattractive, which will end up undermining my objective: helping the Client. My final principle, Over Delivering, is all about customer satisfaction. When I get a project, I go above and beyond what is purely necessary for completion, doing everything I can within the scope of the design to truly make the project shine.

Experience

Until recently, I was a Web/Graphic Designer at ThomasNet Interactive Production division and I loved what I did: helping customers improve their business by improving the quality of their company's website, branding and marketing materials. In addition to designing web pages, I was involved in the design of web applications, and software tools for ThomasNet internal use.

Before joining ThomasNet I worked for a marketing agency called Spire Vision and an advertising agency called Miller Advertising. Working with them allowed me to hone the skills I acquired while pursuing my degrees in Graphic Design and Digital Media Arts.
